General conference April 2018

Pres Ballard encouraged us to write our feeling about the solemn assembly. I forgot about it until I was just reading his talk.

I honestly don't remember them doing that with Pres. Monson. I guess I just have a bad memory. But it seems like during that time I was working a lot at ICU in the hospital and at Smart Styles, so that may have been the reason. Either way, it was very poignant and powerful as we watched the First Presidency sustain eachother, then the quorum of the Twelve, and so forth. It was a learning experience how this worked. There have been times when I always thought they did that in the temple. And maybe they still did that. And I thought they prayed about it and got their own revelation as to who was the next prophet. I knew it was usually the eldest apostle. And that was always the tradition. But for some reason I didn't realize it was so structured. However, when i witnessed it there, the Spirit was very powerful and i knee that these men were called by God. And i really saw an almost visual mantle being worn by Pres. Nelson. He had this aura and spirit about him. There was power, conviction, and confidence in his ccountenance. I've always enjoyed his talks and loved the idea ofnhim being a surgeon. So it's kind of fun seeing these men I grew up with continue to change and mold into the men they are today.

We love and try to go to Grandmama and Grandpapa's house in Arimo. They have one of the best Community Easter Egg Hunts where they divide up the kids by age and also give them a number of eggs that each kid should have. It makes it not so stressful and enjoyable.
